A New Chance to Compose

I was always looking for occasions and excuses to engage with rhythm. Like all composers. If not all then most of them. So when I was given the opportunity I didn't hesitate.

Communication was immediate. The new project will be a collaboration with a percussionist. The purpose of the project beyond the concert is the videography and recording of the two meetings. The first meeting is to get to know each other to discuss a new idea of cooperation with the aim of creating a new project and the second meeting is the rehearsal. The questions that arise (compositional, philosophical, musical, etc.) are immediate and many. However, the anticipation of a new collaboration and rehearsal is exciting to say the least.

Each composer's engagement with rhythm provides a new pair of eyes and a new mind. The way of approaching the rhythm even in the same work can bring from small to huge impacts in the approach of the musical composition language itself. It is also my goal to find that something in this project that will give me an information unknown to me until today so that I can see what I know from another perspective trying to enrich my musical composition language.

A new opportunity to compose, a new experience and above all an opportunity to interpret a new work.
