

Kavour Stylianos Christos was born on July 2, 1990 in Nicosia, Cyprus to Evangelia Totolidou-Kavour and Stylianos Kavour. He started theory and piano at the age of four at the Fountouli Conservatory in Volos. He continued his music education in Kos. In 2000 he moved with his family to Didymoteicho where he continued his musical studies in theory and piano at Thrace Moussa with George T. Manakas. In 2006 he moved to Poland to Bydgoszcz for two years where he continued his piano studies with professor and pianist Sylwia Jurek and in 2007 received a degree in Harmony. From the English school he graduates with honors and gets excellent in the Cambridge exams in the music course for the GCE (Certificate of General Education from Cambridge Education) in the course Music-Composition. In 2008 he starts studying at the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education. In 2009 he received the degree of Counterpoint from the conservatory Thrace Moussa. In 2009 he also participates in the 9th annual music competition of the Youth Choir and Orchestra where he wins the first place for the composition of "Suite: Thoughts of a genius". In 2011 he received a degree in band organization and orchestration from the Thrace Mousa Conservatory and in 2013 a degree in Fuga.
In 2013 he gives qualifying exams for the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and enters the Composition class of Dr. Tsougras Konstantinos. In the summer of the same year he took part in the 11th international competition of Volos and won the second place in the category Solo instrument with the composition of "Study for piano No. 1 in E minor" and the third place in the category of chamber music with the composition "Sonata for Viola and Piano in g minor”. On August 8, 2015, he was awarded the first place in the semifinals of the 1st International Composition Competition "Maurice Ravel" in Bergamo, Italy for the composition "Symphonic sketches in a minor, Fiakas". In 2015 he was admitted to the Maastricht Conservatory to study Composition in the class of the German composer, conductor and professor Dr. Robert HP Platz, one of K. Stockhausen's last students. The Lithuanian composer, conductor and professor Vykintas Baltakas also accepts him in his class and in 2017 having a degree in composition he accepts him in the postgraduate course of composition under his supervision, at the Maastricht Conservatory. During the 4 years he lived in Maastricht he took part in many projects and collaborated with many ensembles, musicians and conductors. The Zuid Philharmonia under the direction of conductor Lucas Vis (Lucas Fis) was one of the orchestras working as an arranger in the international project Musical Postcards. Other ensembles were the Greek Keyngz (formed with the outstanding Cypriot pianist and close friend Yiannis Leandrou), Pollock Duo, Ensemble 99, Contemporary Music Ensemble Synaesthesis etc. He also participates in the 14th International Composition Competition in the categories Solo instrument, String Quartet, and chamber music, winning two second prizes and one third. Having several concerts to his credit in the Netherlands, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Luxembourg and Sweden, he is invited as a Residence Artist at the summer improvisation and composition camp in Kintai, Lithuania.
He composed music for 6 short films, which were screened at many festivals in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. In 2019 he gets his second master's degree in composition with final exam 2 sold out concerts of the opera of which he composed and wrote the libretto with the valuable help of the outstanding Greek conductor and close friend Alexandros Kavvadas "The Fly-a comic drama", at the M4 Opera Festival Maastricht. Participates in the annual Musica Sacra Maastricht as a supervising composer, composing in collaboration with 2 composers, Freya Wolf and Ido Ulmer, "Invocatie" (absence) for 6 voices, two clarinets, double bass, electric guitar, painter and solo voice and electronics. He took part in the concert for liberation of the city of Maastricht with his composition "Enscravos da Alma-SOS da alma" (Slave Souls - the SOS of souls) for solo church organ. In 2020 he is accepted as a doctoral candidate at the Ionian University and continues his studies under the supervision of the Greek composer and professor Dr. Trypani Dimitra.
